Referral Specialist

Job Description Aurora Health Care was created around the idea that there is a better way to provide health care. We are currently seeking a dedicated Referral Specialist who is enthusiastic about providing exceptional patient service. Imagine yourself:Ensuring information obtained is complete and accurate, applying acquired knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third party payor requirements.Contacting insurance carrier after verifying information to secure benefit coverage, policy limitations, pre-certification, etc., for customers. Conducting follow-up calls as necessary to physician offices, financial counselors, and the third party payor to complete pre-certification process.Reviewing outpatient information for completeness and accuracy, using Medicare, Medicaid, and other third party payor on-line eligibility systems.Educating Customer Service Representatives of all insurance changes and trends that have been identified.

General Qualifications
High school education or equivalent.

Two years experience in a similar job at an insurance or health care organization.

Knowledge of third-party payors, including referral and pre-authorization requirements.

Kowledge of medical terminalogy and procedures.

Experience using Window, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
