Job Description Florida Hospital AltamonteHome to over 1,500 employees and the 3rd largest employer in Seminole County, Florida Hospital Altamonte is opening our brand new 72-bed patient tower in December 2007!  We have a flexible and supportive working environment, opportunities for growth, and the chance to treat higher-acuity patients in a collaborative, intimate setting.  If your passion is to provide superior nursing care in a faith-based healing environment, you have found what you have been looking for-right here at Florida Hospital Altamonte.Surgical ServicesOur Surgical Services department houses six inpatient OR suites.  We cover general surgery, gynecology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, plastics, vascular and urology.  We also have a free-standing outpatient surgery center which consists of four OR suites with a scope of services including general, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, gynecology and plastics.   We are in process of building six brand new state-of-the-art OR suites that will replace our existing ones – they will be located on the second floor of our new patient tower.  Completion is expected to be at the end of 2008!  Our employees and medical staff are dedicated to excellence and it is this dedication and quality of care that makes Florida Hospital a nationally recognized, award-winning health care system. Positions AvailableFull time OR staff position for Florida Hospital Altamonte's 6-suite OR.  Must be able to take call and respond to call to reach facility within 30 minutes.  Prefer experienced individual proficient in circulating and scrubbing.The operating room registered nurse assists in the provision of preoperative nursing care, develops expertise and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and re-evaluating the needs, treatment and care of the age appropriate patient. The dimension of practice ranges from pre-operative assessment to intra-operative intervention on to post-op evaluation. Should be knowledgeable of the nursing process, nursing diagnosis, and the standards of care for the surgical patient. Assists with inservices and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Assists with surgical procedures in scrub/circulating duties, and supervises other health team personnel. Responsible for recording and maintaining accurate records. Assists in maintaining safe and aseptic environment for all. Assists in provision of continuity of individual patient care in the perioperative period.
