Clinical Nurse Educator-Performs the primary function of a Clinical Educator in assisting in the design, implementation and evaluation of educational programs to meet the educational needs of Mission Partners and patients.  Responsibilities encompass three major components:  orientation, inservice education and continuing education.  Participates in committees to achieve desired clinical outcomes and to ensure the presence of clear and consistent nursing practice standards throughout the organization.  Supervises indirectly both new and seasoned Mission Parnters in meeting those standards.  Participates in and coordinates evidence-based practice research opportunities within the Health Center and assists in formulating implementation of best-practices within our various patient care processes. 

Relationships:  Member of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary health care team interacting with Mission Partners, management, patients, physicians, families and visitors.  Provides direction to RNs, LPNs, CNAs and ancillary Mission Partners.  Collaborates with Patient Care Coordinators, Charge Nurses, House Supervisors and Unit Directors. 

Qualifications:  Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with current license to practice in Illinois as a Registered Nurse.  Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.  At least one  year of instructing experience in a hospital setting; at least one year in a management position; and 3-5 years of clinical experience.  Evidence of skills in leadership, team, creativity, initiative, excellent communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.  CPR Instructor certification.  ACLS Instructor certification.
