Quality Monitoring Analyst

Job Description: 1. General Summary of Duties This position is responsible for assuring that all hospital core, clinical departments and care centers are in compliance with mandated quality monitoring activities and involves direct interfacing with Department Heads, Administrators, Care Center Directors and Clinical Chairpersons. Assist in development and design of indicators to be monitored. Provide support and educational resources to departments and care centers relative to the quality assessment and improvement process. 2. Essential Job Functions / major Tasks 2.1. In conjunction with the Director of PI, coordinates Quality Improvement Council activities, providing consultation, program development, content, enhancement process and education to administrative staff responsible for quality assessment and improvement. 2.2. Provide technical assistance, resource services, consultation and education to clinical/core departments relative to quality assurance activities. 2.3. Provides staff support to hospital and Board of Trustees, PI committees; (QIC & PCQAC) i.e., prepare minutes, agendas, create reports, and assure that all material from presenting departments is available and appropriate. 2.4. Prepare reports and analysis associated with the institutions PI program i.e., Board of Trustee (BOT) reports, departmental and care center program evaluation, quarterly reports, etc. 2.5. Design and develop indicators for subsequent monitoring by Care Centers and/or Departments. Develop corresponding data collection and/or scanning tools for use by all areas responsible to perform quality monitoring activities. 2.6. Integrate mandated IPRO, CMS and JCAHO indicators in respective departments or care centers and assure that appropriate action plans are developed and carried out. 2.7. Provide timely status reports of results of quality monitoring relative to areas that are assigned including the identification of patterns and trends that require actions. 2.8. Research and implement opportunities for use of benchmarking material for assigned areas. 2.9. Participate and conduct root cause analysis where applicable. 2.10. Assist in data collection and analysis related to hospital wide initiatives and other special project as assigned. 2.11. Facilitate teams and work group activities related to Performance Improvement including Core Measures, safety goals and JCAHO complianceJob Qualifications: Education and TrainingRegistered NurseBachelor's DegreeMasters Preferred3-5 years nursing experience1-2 years related experience with knowledge of Quality Assessment & Improvement strategies and processes preferred.Must have experience with MS Office programs
