Quality Control Manager Skills Required: CTR, Cancer, SEER, Quality Control Manager, Data Management, Job Description: Quality ControlIf you are a great Quality Control Manager with great medical experience, please read on!What you need:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in such fields as medical records, or biology. - CTR certification required. - A minimum of 7 years of technical/professional experience in tumor registry or related fields. - At least 3 of in a managerial and supervisory capacity. - Good public relations skills are necessary. - Extensive knowledge of cancer registry systems and medical records practice. - Knowledge of or experience in working within computerized health information field important. - SEER program experience desirable. - Ability to analyze, plan, organize and direct the work of others. - Sensitivity to the medical data collection needs of hospitals and other reporting facilities. - Ability to function in a complex multi-location environmentWhat you'll be doing:- Providing direction to staff in such areas as visual editing, record consolidation and resolution, resolving discrepancies identified by various computers edits and ad hoc review of the data, and re-abstracting quality control audits. - Responsible for the quality control of these activities. - Assisting the Director in monitoring the unit activities to ensure compliance of the State and NCI requirements. - Coordinating activities of the unit within NCCC and with NCI, California Cancer Registry, hospitals, and other collaborating organizations as appropriate. - Demonstrating sensitivity to the need for coordination and liaison with the medical health community. - Coordinating training and educational activities for internal staff and community-based cancer registrars.
