QXNT Product Manager

The QNXT Product Manager is the individual who has the primary responsibility for the development, management and enhancement of the QNXT products for the payer market. The Product Manager must manage the development and release of the Core QNXT product. The Product Manager must also elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the real needs of the project stakeholders, including customers and end users. The Product Manager also serves as the conduit between the customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow. The Product Manager is involved throughout the entire development life cycle. Upon establishment of the requirements baseline, the focus is shifted towards the management of the requirements specification and verifying the fulfillment of all requirements and then the ongoing management of enhancements for the product over time. Responsibilities: Own, manage and enhance the core QNXT product over time, as required to meet the needs of the payer market. Work with the project sponsor and product managers in other internal organizations to document the product’s vision. Complete market analyses to determine opportunities and fit within the market. Partner with Sales and Marketing organizations to ensure product viability. Create or assist in the creation of business cases and financial models to support the development of the product. Assist in responding to RFP requests. Work with customers and internal resources; develop requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis. Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely. Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements and quality, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those that must base their work on the requirements. Define nonfunctional requirements. Represent requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios, where appropriate. Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards. Participate in requirements prioritization. Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents. Participate in peer reviews of work products derived from requirements specifications (e.g., functional specifications and estimates) to ensure that the requirements were interpreted correctly. Assist with the development of the organization’s requirements engineering policies, procedures, and tools. Act as a Subject Matter Expert on the product’s capabilities for a variety of stakeholders. Deliver presentations regarding the product to executive management, customers and other audiences, as required. Manage weekly prioritization of defects, DAR’s, and merges Manage defects that have been or need to be pulled from a release, reprioritized and reassigned Review and manage customer, QA, and Dev, escalated defects for inclusion in an upcoming release Collaborate with Project Managers and Account Executives on their priority lists as well as their migration plans (testing and implementation dates) Manage hot fix requests and testing requests for customers not on the Change Package process yet Manage the Defect Aging Policy Management of current releases, future release planning and the content therein. Coordinate and balance issue prioritization between internal and external customers Coordinate communication for customer current release versions and upgrade release planning timelines Skills Needed: Analytical skills Entrepreneurial thinking and flexibility to change Facilitation skills Observational skills Organizational skills Modeling Skills (e.g.: financial and analytical) Interpersonal and relationship building skills Writing skills, including the ability to write a business case PowerPoint and public speaking skills Education: BS in Computer Science or BA in business administration or similar. Formal training in Product Management not required, but preferred Masters degree not required, but preferred Knowledge /Experience Needed: Deep understanding of the healthcare market Prior product management experience recommended; knowledge of QNXT product suite preferred Basic understanding of the software development process An understanding of requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, verification, and management practices and the ability to apply them in practice; familiarity with requirements engineering resources An understanding of how to practice requirements engineering according to standard software development life cycles in a team environment Knowledge of product management concepts and how enterprise software products are positioned and developed is a plus.
