Sr Quality Assurance Analyst

 

Reports to:  IT Manager - Software Development

Location:  Lakeland, FL

 

Job Summary

 

The Quality Assurance Analyst develops quality assurance and testing strategies, ensures software quality through the project's life cycle, captures the design of test cases and test procedures, builds test cases/scripts for testing client server and web applications and ensures all quality assurance and testing activities are conducted throughout the life cycle, and that the results from these activities are verified.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or related field

  2. Two (2) years QA process experience, including test plan documentation

  3. Demonstrated experience in the following facets of software Quality Assurance

  o Code review

  o Functional testing

  o Integration testing

  o Regression testing

  o Performance testing

  o Test plans

  o Test Scripts

  4. Experience testing EDI processes

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  1. Five (5) years QA process experience

  2. One (1) year cumulative experience querying Oracle databases within the past three (3) years

  3. One (1) year cumulative experience using TOAD

  4. One (1) year cumulative experience testing .Net applications

  5. One (1) year cumulative experience testing XML based EDIs

  6. Experience with Configuration Management and associated systems

  7. Work experience with healthcare vocabulary and syntax standards (ICD9, CPT4, ICD10, LOINC, SNOMED, UMLS, HL7)

  8. Ability to assist in test script development

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  1. Mine databases and investigate processes to analyze software problems

  2. Troubleshoot applications errors or applications not operating – isolate problems from symptoms and recommend resolutions

  3. Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines

  4. Define test procedures and test plans for application development

  5. Ensure data integrity at all times when testing applications

  6. Writes, revises and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to attain quality goals and objectives

  7. Review project and design documentation for quality expectations

  8. Determine technical problems and track defects within defined systems

  9. Educate team in quality process

  10. Release management

  1. Demonstrate ability to work in cross-functional teams as well as independently with minimal supervision

  3. Reduction of IT operational issues associated with quality
