Psychologist Senior (Psychologist II)
Job Description: Southside Virginia Training Center (SVTC), a residential facility located near Petersburg, VA, is recruiting for a Psychologist Senior (Psychologist II). SVTC’s primary mission is to provide quality, client-centered health and habilitative services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In pursuing the person-centered approach, staff from various disciplines work as a team with the individual and his/her legally authorized representative to address the individual needs, goals, choices and preferences.
This position is responsible for psycho-diagnostic and adaptive assessments as well as the development of treatment programs for the dually diagnosed (MR/MI). The position also requires the development and implementation of specialized treatment programs and the management of a normal caseload assignment. Specific duties include the development and implementation of behavior treatment programs, behavior support programs and social skills training/structured counseling programs in support of the interdisciplinary team process.
Requirements: Must have: knowledge of behavior support principles/procedures, client centered and counseling approaches; knowledge of behavioral and cognitive development, methods of assessment, and psychopathology; experience in providing direction in the planning of specialized treatment programs and in the area of behavior support, social skills training and in development of facility policies; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and accurately both orally and in writing; excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of staff (direct care, physicians and other professionals); experience and ability to work with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities and the mentally ill; and a Master’s Degree in Psychology.
A Doctoral Degree and/or licensure in psychology or related field preferred.
Salary Range: $40,959 minimum (Pay Band 5)
