Psychiatric Provider (Nurse Practioner)

The Psychiatric Prov. shall provide psychiatric assessment and care to the patients of the Remuda Ranch Treatment Systems. These patients generally include child, adolescent and adult females, but could include males. In addition to having an eating disorder, these patients may have general psychiatric issues including substance abuse, depression, anxiety and trauma. The Psychiatrist shall participate in the development of the master treatment plan, and shall work with the treatment team at Remuda. The Psychiatrist shall maintain medical records in a complete, comprehensive and timely manner. The Psychiatrist will be involved in Performance Improvement and peer review. At discharge, the Primary care Physician will transfer care to a peer or to the staff at the Remuda Life Program.

Job Requirements:
NP

1. Graduate degree and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Certification with experience in psychiatry.

2. Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia and be a member of Remuda’s Medical Staff.

3. A minimum of 3 years of experience in general psychiatry, experience in the treatment of Eating Disorders is preferred.

4. General knowledge of treatment of substance abuse.

5. Must have and maintain current DEA certificate.

6. If a salaried Psychiatric Provider, must be able to be insured by Remuda Ranch’s liability insurance company.

7. If a contract Psychiatric Provider, proof of malpractice insurance in the amount of at least $1 million/$3 million and proof of Workman’s Compensation Insurance. Obtain and maintain CPR and Behavior Management Training.Division/Department : Virginia Travel Required : None
