Project Manager 2 - Facility, Planning & Development, San Francisco
Sutter Health Support Services (SHSS) is the Support Center for the Sutter Health affiliates, which houses all non-medical support departments that are not provided at the affiliates. It provides expertise and guidance to support affiliate functional departments.The Project Manager 2 represents Sutter Health and its affiliates in capital improvement projects, including new development, facility expansion, renovation and retrofitting. This position leads, coordinates, monitors and reports on design and construction activities. The PM 2 assists in administering consultant and construction agreements. The incumbent facilitates quality control, maintenance of design and construction schedules, construction management, and owner representative responsibilities. Additionally, this role acts as a liaison between the affiliate and corporate, as well as between the Sutter entities and external vendors. The PM 2 may manage the project delivery team staff to provide coordinated expertise, standardized tools and project management advice to the affiliate. · Education: Bachelor of Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management or equivalent professional experience in the design and construction of hospitals and medical clinics. Masters preferred. · Experience: A minimum of 5-8 years project management experience with construction projects of increasing complexity. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in the delivery of health care facilities including medical office buildings, acute care general hospitals, outpatient surgery centers and psychiatric hospitals from programming through facility activation. Must have been in responsible charge of the delivery of major projects exceeding $50 million construction cost and of significant complexity in at least two (2) of the above four (4) categories. · Knowledge: Must be familiar with health care construction building codes and regulations, space programming and allocation cost analysis, discretionary approval processes, construction means and methods, construction processes and procedures, and contract implementation. Must be familiar with the State of California building approval processes including OSHPD, the State Fire Marshall and municipal discretionary approvals, as well as JCAHO regulation. Must have expertise in project management techniques and software. Must be proficient with Microsoft Project.
