Job Description Location Flexible SUMMARY Participates in the functional analysis, design, implementation and documentation of large and complex healthcare product innovation projects using development methodology. Acts as Subject Matter Expert with regard to functional systems processes. Works closely with programmers and project directors to develop detailed design specifications. Develops all documentation according to standards. Serves as liaison between Business Owners, End Users, IT Programming staff and Project Management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: A. Develops and documents workflows, systems requirements, system impact analysis, systems design, process analysis and testing (including reasonableness checks) to provide efficient, cost-effective integration of new solutions. Identifies and consults with other team members on the impact of those solutions with regard to existing and future system infrastructure. B. Documents all requirements and technical specifications in conjunction with shared services partners for all products (new and existing) C. Works with medical economics teams to manage data deliverables and analytics. Authors project plans and timelines. D. Participates in development of detailed designs and design walk-through with appropriate focus groups and related users. Verifies design accuracy. E. Develops implementation plans, produces documentation and training materials when necessary. Conducts end user and staff training as needed. F. Supports and troubleshoots system issues and problems arising with IT and user staff. G. Provides status reports including detailed descriptions of current project's progress and indicates the amount of time devoted to each task. H. Coordinates, guides and mentors project development efforts performed by in-house staff or outside consultants to ensure that all tasks are completed according to the project plan. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Completes special projects and reports for management as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Education: BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field. MS preferred. 2. Experience: 5-8 years complex systems analysis and documentation experience required. 3. A proven track record of results and a results-orientation required 4. Experience in the functional aspects of healthcare systems design, integration, implementation and documentation including the coordination and integration of all departments and functions 5. Must possess strong analytical, consultative and organizational skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Prior work experience: Experience in the managed care, healthcare, or insurance industries preferred. 2. Knowledge and skills: Experience with structured system development methods.
