Project Coordinator

Summary: Under the direction of the Coordinating Center Manager, the Project Coordinator will coordinate research and administrative activities to help the Helicobacter pylori Gastric Prevention Study achieve its objectives. This position will serve as key liaison to primarily Spanish speaking study sites throughout Central and South America; lead the development of study related procedures, research and administrative materials; oversee the work of study staff at CRAB; and execute moderately complex research assignments.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Coordinate the relevant research and administrative activities of study staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed according to project/study timelines.
· Serve as project/study liaison to the Southwest Oncology Group leadership, clinical and laboratory collaborators, scientific advisors, Data and Safety Monitoring Committee, affiliated individuals or institutions, and outside organizations.
· Assist in the development and administration of project/study procedures and manuals according to protocol, IRB, grant/contract and institutional specifications.
· Assist in the development of research materials, questionnaires, data collection instruments, and educational materials.
· Assure adequate translation of materials into Spanish and/or English, as needed.
· Track study data and compile study progress reports.
· Monitor performance of all study sites.
· Coordinate planning for and conduct of: 1) annual meetings of project investigators and scientific advisors, and 2) bi-annual meetings of project Data and Safety Monitoring Committee.
· Other responsibilities as identified by the Coordinating Center Manager.
Qualifications:
· BA/BS in related field, R.N. or 10 years research project coordinator experience may be substituted for degree
· Research project coordination experience; minimum one year post-master's experience or three years post-bachelor's experience
· Bilingual in Spanish/English
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English
· Available to travel (domestic and foreign) an average of 20% time
· Supervisory experience
· Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
