Programmer/Analyst

Programmer Analyst American Specialty Health, Incorporated (ASH)  Voted “Best Companies to Workâ€� For by San Diego Business Journal and San Diego Magazine -2006  We are seeking a Programmer Analyst for our Information Technology Department. The primary purpose of this position is to develop new applications by participating in projects, in a team environment, where software/database technologies are used to address business needs. This position provides the opportunity to showcase your skills in development, maintenance and support of multiple initiatives at ASH including Corporate Internet/Intranet sites and internal business applications. ASH’s development environments make extensive use of Microsoft technologies and development tools.  EDUCATION:Four-year computer science or information systems degree preferred.  EXPERIENCE:  · 2 - 4 years of progressive experience performing computer programming with expertise in VB, VB.Net, and OOP. · 3 + years using relational database design/optimization with Microsoft SQL Server in a network environment. · Strong object oriented design and analysis and n-tier development are highly preferred. SKILLS/ABILITIES:· Ability to analyze, design, implement, and maintain an application throughout its entire lifecycle.  · Problem solving, analytical and logical, interpersonal, and group communication skills are a must.  · The individual must be able to work in a fast paced, team centered environment. · The ability to continuously learn new concepts and technologies as they evolve is an absolute requirement.  · Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments to meet required deadlines.  From our corporate-casual dress code to paid vacation and holidays to company-sponsored social activities, American Specialty Health provides excellent benefits and incentives.
