Pool Speech Therapist - Inpatient/Acute

Job Description Imagine yourself as a Speech Therapist working with a multi disciplinary team consisting of all types of therapists, as well as other professional medical and office staff. This position treats in an acute/inpatient setting and provides evaluation and treatment to video fluoroscopy, stroboscopy, communication and cognitive evaluation and treatment, and treatment of voice disorders. Our clinicians are highly skilled and work collaboratively in an environment that fosters growth.

Imagine yourself -

Evaluating and treating patients with various speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders under the prescription of a physician.

Participating in performance improvement activities designed to identify and resolve problems affecting patient care outcome and to improve quality of care.

Planning for and completing patient discharge including providing written home programs, patient/family teaching, referral for community services and ordering equipment.

Completing all required documentation following department policy, including patient progress notes, team conference reports, and discharge summaries as appropriate, to record patient care and progress of each patient assigned as well as daily statistics, billing, and scheduling.

Communicating verbally and in writing with peers, patients, families, physicians, case manager, and all other personnel.

General Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology required.

Must maintain current licensure in the State of Wisconsin to practice Speech/Language Pathology.

Excellent human relations, organization, problem solving, and decision-making skills are essential.

Must obtain CPR certification within three months of hire.

Desired Qualifications
Previous experience strongly preferred.

Knowledgeable of how to complete videofluroscopies.

Professional appearance and attitude.

Strong communication skills.
