GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT
The Pollin Cardiovascular Wellness Program for Women at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (the Program) is seeking an enthusiastic administrator to fill a full time Director position. This position will primarily be responsible for coordinating the development, implementation and management of the Program. The right individual is passionate about improving the health of women and communities, and has strong administrative, facilitation and communication skills. Experience in developing programs working with multiple constituents is essential, as the success of this program is dependent upon the collaboration of multiple programs, community health centers and key community leaders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership and guidance to develop the Program
· Manage and direct all operations, programs and staff associated with the Program; collaborate with medical leadership to hire, manage and direct Program personnel
· Represent the Program’s mission to agencies, stakeholders and the general public
· Prepare and oversee Program operating and grant budgets, and ensure effective use of Program resources to achieve goals; oversee space planning to support Program activities
· Organize and facilitate Executive Committee, Operations Working Group and Advisory Group meetings
· Organize and lead meetings and communications with partners and collaborators.
· Function as the administrative liaison with the Sister-to-Sister Foundation
· Implement all aspects of Program and subset of projects (Well Women, Patient Navigators, Gestational Diabetes, Screening); establish time lines, goals, deliverables and measurements for all Program projects
· Work with the Operations Working Group to establish and monitor short term and long term Program goals, and to establish, measure and report on performance outcomes
· Lead the design, writing and review of all project-related documents for internal and external audiences, including program development and reporting, fundraising, and overall public communication
· Work with physician leadership to raise funds and provide donor stewardship; when appropriate write grant applications, preparation of program materials to support solicitation, donor correspondence, annual reports and other deliverables
· Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field of cardiovascular disease in women and prevention.
· Build and promote a positive, productive team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· A Master’s degree in public health, hospital administration or a health related field preferred
· 5-7 years relevant and related experience required
· Proven leadership and management skills (preferably in a nonprofit organization)
· Evidence of ability to develop teams and establish relationships with internal and external constituencies
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with community organizations, scientific community and programs
· Experience with new program establishment and development
· Experience in direct supervision and management of employees
· Theoretical grounding in cardiovascular disease, women’s health and/or other related diseases helpful
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIIRED
· Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal)
· Takes initiative and functions effectively independently and as part of a team.
· Establishes and maintains effective working relationships internally and externally.
· Good interpersonal communication skills, excellent organizational skills and a great attention to detail are required.
· Computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Working Conditions:
· Normal office environment.
· May travel between BWH and community locations during the course of the day.
· No hazardous material exposure.
· No exposure to dangerous or adverse working conditions.
