Position Description:Under direction of supervising physician, performs diagnostic and therapeutic medical services. Works to ensure patient satisfaction and positive relationships with physicians and staff to help support the delivery of quality patient care. Adheres to Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare. Essential Functions: 1.Takes medical history and performs patient examinations under the supervision of physician.2.Orders/performs/interprets diagnostic test results for patient to provide information on medical condition under the supervision of a physician.3.Diagnoses patient under the supervision of a physician.4.Prescribes or administers treatment under the supervision of a physician.5.Uses good clinical judgement in referring patients under the supervision of a physician.6.Maintains an accurate medical record to support clinical and business processes.7.Works to ensure patient satisfaction.8.Maintains positive relationships with physicians and staff.9.Plans, implements and/or administers treatment protocols under the supervision of a physician.10.Supports and adheres to clinic governance model.11.Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned.12.Adheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures.Qualifications:Join us for this exciting opportunity as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in our Bariatric Surgery Clinic.PA--Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant training program.Previous health care experience preferred.Iowa license required. Meets credentialing process of hospital where practicing. Possesses federal and state Controlled Substance prescribing authority.NP--Certificates & Licenses Current Iowa license. Member of National Practitioner Data Bank. Meets credentialing process of hospital where practicing. Possesses federal and state Controlled Substance prescribing authority. Certified by American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or American Nurses Credential Center.
