This position is located in Kearny Mesa.

Hours

Flexible hours: 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Very flexible hours and accommodating schedule.  Part-time 0.8 FTE.

QualificationsCurrent California LVN or RN licensure required.Graduate of accredited LVN or RN program required.Five years experience in a clinical setting preferred. General nursing knowledge in Medical/Surgical, Pediatrics, OB GYN and Psychiatric Health required. Ability to think and act independently with good customer service and clinical judgment required.Must be able to multi-task by talking with patients while performing computer functions required.Data entry skills required.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills required.Ability to communicate well verbally, using appropriate grammar and professional conversation skills required.Ability to relate quickly and confidentially to potential patients. Computer knowledge and typing skills required. Ability to handle 50-75 calls a day and respond in a fast paced environment required.Should be able to sit for extended periods of time required.Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

Summary

82-Sharp Physician Referral seeks a bilingual customer service-oriented LVN or RN with desire and ability to positively impact patients over the 1-800-82-Sharp phone line. Individual will manage inbound calls from the general public, Sharp HealthCare managed care patients, and physician offices. Candidate will utilize clinical knowledge to assist callers in gaining appropriate physician, hospital, medical group and community referrals. Utilizes computer software to make referrals and maintain databases. Facilitates scheduling of appointments.Manager willing to discuss shift options. Able to communicate professionally and with empathy; provides timely assessment of patient needs and makes appropriate referrals. Ability to take calls in English and Spanish.

Physical Requirements

Position requires sedentary work, occasionally lifting 10 pounds. Carrying small objects short distances. Ability to sit for 6-7 hours daily at computer terminal. Incumbent is sitting at a computer terminal 90-95 percent of the time. Ability to use keys on a computer terminal keyboard. Must be able to handle 70-100 telephone contacts daily. Must be able to distinguish phone rings and caller’s voices against regular background noise and conversation and to hear and speak clearly over the telephone. Regularly needs to bend, stoop and reach to file and organize supplies in cabinets.
