Title:Part Time  Physical Therapy Rehab Aide

Capitol Lakes, 333 West Main Street, Madison, WI



 

The Physical Therapy Rehab Aide will assist the Occupational, Physical and Speech Language Pathologist therapists in the Rehab Therapy Department. Transport patients to the therapy room, charting, medical records, prepare patients for therapy and other assigned duties by therapists. The Physical Therapy Rehab Aide will also teach exercise classes to include yoga and other misc wellness classes.  Prefer BA/BS in Exercise Science & CNA exp & /or  Physical Therapy Aide exp in therapy setting working w/ geriatric patients. Physical Requirements: (Essential)

 Must be able to use visually oriented office and medical equipment.  Must be able to read and complete forms on paper and on the computer.  Must be available to visually assess patient status and response to treatment. Must be able to adequately perform hand movements in these categories: fine manipulation, gross manipulation, and simple and firm grasping. Able to maneuver upper body in order to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis from floor to waist, from waist to shoulder, and up to 10 lbs from the shoulder overhead. Ability to carry up to 25lbs on a regular basis. Occasional bending and twisting.Good balance and body mechanics.  Must know limits on physical strength. Must be able to teach exercise classes to geriatric population

 General Duties

 Perform treatment specifically directed by the supervising therapist or rehab coordinator.Transport patients to and from the therapy department or appropriate therapy space. Assist patents in preparation for treatment, dressing, and undressing, application of appliances such as braces, corsets, orthotics, and prosthetics. Carry out treatment programs as are predetermined for each patient and delegated by the supervising therapists or rehab coordinator. Assist patients in ambulating with appropriate devices determined by the supervising therapist or the rehab coordinator.Assist patients in the safe practice of activities related to the development and maintenance of strength, endurance, range of motion, and activities of daily living as determined by the supervising therapist.Be responsible for the housekeeping duties in the rehab department as assigned by the rehab coordinator. Perform clerical duties as assigned by the supervising therapist or rehab coordinator.Maintain facility wheelchairs in working order.Performs other related duties as assigned. Perform clerical duties assigned including filing, copying, FIM’s.Maintain discharge and admission in the computer.
