Pharmacy Supervisor - Doctor Calls

Supervises Doctor Calls staff performing duties related to ensuring that physician verification is made on prescriptions that have questions or need additional information. Ensures achievement of objectives for production and quality for the unit. Supervises the allocation of staff to other areas within the pharmacy or to other pharmacies to ensure overall production goals are met. Develops, trains, prioritizes/sets direction, monitors, and addresses workflow and human resources issues as appropriate to ensure efficient flow of work and achievement of individual and team objectives.Knowledge of Doctor Calls processes and procedures desirable. Proven ability to oversee people and processes to achieve objectives, including analysis of work flow and ability to make changes in a timely manner. Ability to build strong business relationships with other functional areas to best support mutual objectives. Analysis and problem-solving skills to ensure production and quality measures are met, utilizing sound decision-making skills which satisfy “bigger picture” perspective. Interpersonal, conflict management, and negotiation skills are also required, as well as strong human relations skills to supervise and develop assigned employees effectively. Proficient computer skills with Windows environment knowledge required; other functionally-related software knowledge preferred. Able to work overtime or extended hours as necessary.High School education (or equivalent) required. College degree and/or coursework strongly preferred. Additional certification and/or additional training preferred.Lead/Supervisory experience in this or a related position, featuring demonstration of the above qualifications. Health insurance background and/or medical office experience is desired. Knowledge of pharmacy terminology/general knowledge of mail pharmacy operations is desired as well.
