Our client seeks a seasoned Pharmacy professional to lead, direct and manage all Pharmacy Department activities.

Position Summary:

The Director of Pharmacy services is responsible for the Clinical and Administrative direction of the pharmacy department, assuring the delivery of the highest level of pharmaceutical care and information to patients and related health care professionals.  As the Director of Pharmacy frequently interact with physicians, nursing staff, drug enforcement agency officials, department heads, patients, visitors, hospital staff and other health care related and accrediting agencies.

The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for but not limited to:

▪  Prepares annual personnel and capital equipment budget.

▪  Prepares justification for additional personnel, equipment, and programs.

▪  Develops policies and procedures and assures compliance thereof.

▪  Provides orientation to new pharmacy and hospital employees to pharmacy procedures and services as required.

▪  Supervises, schedules, and evaluates all clinical and supportive pharmacy personnel.

▪  Controls all pharmacy purchasing and inventories.

▪  Controls all controlled substances and tax free alcohol in the unit.

▪  Maintains proper communication and coordination with other hospital departments and medical staff.

▪  Maintains hospital formulary.

▪  Maintains the drug distribution system of the unit hospital.

▪  Maintains and supervises satellite pharmacy departments.

▪  Develops and participates in educational programs for the hospital.

Performs other related duties as assigned.


Education/Experience:

▪  B.S. Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D

▪  Minimum of three years acute care pharmacist experience with at least one in a managerial capacity.

▪  Florida licensure or eligible

▪  Ability to communicate at all levels
