Services offered by the company include pharmacy network contracting, rebate contracting and administration, mail order pharmacy facilities, specialty drugs and retail drug claims processing.  The company is one of only three in the United States to have received URAC dual accreditation and provides clinical services to help its clients provide cost effective, quality-driven results.  The company is part of Pharmacy Services group, within Enterprise Services, a family of UnitedHealth Group businesses dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Americans.   Position Description:   Positions in this function perform various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders including interpreting physicians prescriptions and creating orders, accessing, inputing, and retrieving prescription information from computer system, as well as verifying whether order is reimbursable. Will dispense any or all of the following: unit doses, specialty pharmaceuticals and injectibles; may compound medications. Consult with customers, patients and/or physicians regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions. Consultations may be telephonic or in person. Review and approve/deny requests for prescription prior authorizations. Pharmacists must have a current license without restrictions and Pharmacy Technicians must have current state license or national certification without restrictions based on regulatory requirements of worksite.   Primary Responsibilities: Handling requests for Prior Authorization of prescriptions coming from providers Contacting doctors directly to gather additional information Making determinations for prescriptions case-by-case based on patient information and insurance coverage Documenting all case information and decisions in our system Transferring approved orders to pharmacy technicians for dispensing Prescription verification of Specialty orders Communicating with patients to answer questions and determine drug delivery methods via phone  Qualifications:   The chosen candidate must possess: California Pharmacist licensure Bachelor’s of Pharmacy or a PharmD Excellent communication skills Flexible scheduling ability 3 - 5 years relevant experience required 1 - 2 years of professional PC usage - Word, Excel and Pharmacy System computer exp.
