We are currently seeking a Per Diem Certified Pedorthist in your area.  Founded in 2000 with eight employees, AOM has grown to almost 500 teammates in just eight short years.  Our patients depend upon us for medical products ordered from the comfort of their homes and conveniently delivered to them with little or no out-of pocket expense.  We are continuing our phenomenal growth through expansion and acquisition.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Pedorthic Fitter will complete the evaluation, assess and direct the treatment formulation, measurement, design, fabrication, assemblage, fit, adjustments, service or provision of initial training to accomplish the fitting of a pedorthic device.  They will certify all fittings of therapeutic shoes, shoe modifications made for therapeutic purposes, prosthetic fillers of the forefoot and foot orthoses for use from the ankle and below.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

1)  Perform Therapeutic Shoe Fittings for company Diabetic customers

2)  Build a deep understanding of the Diabetic population and their needs.

3)  Custom Fit Molds for Inserts with accuracy with a follow up fitting once the insert has been made.

4)  Certify all fittings according to Medicare and State requirements.

5)  Accurately complete all required Pedorthic/Fitter documentation timely.

6)  Maintain a flexible schedule to fit the customer needs

 

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

1)  Follow up with customers regarding shoe fit and satisfaction.

2)  Performs job responsibilities within established regulatory guidelines (HIPAA / PHI) and reports non-compliant activity to Manager; protects patient and company confidentiality in all matters of processing accounts

3)  Provides exceptional service to internal and external customers; interacts in a professional manner with all contacts in order to promote effective exchanges of information

4)  Looks for ways to improve and promote quality processes within and outside of the company

5)  Reports to customer appointments on time and ready to work; adheres to the company Dress Code by maintaining a professional appearance in appropriate attire

6)  Implements change in a constructive and beneficial manner, recognizing the need for change and the results of improved work processes

7)  Maintain knowledge of all regulatory requirements by attending in-service classes and annual HIPAA updates

8)  Other duties as dictated by business conditions or management directive

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

A.  EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:

 

Requires education and training equivalent to a 4-year college or university education. Must possess and maintain active state licensure as a Pedorthist or Orthotist and maintain all ongoing educational requirements required by state licensure.

B.  WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

Requires a minimum of three to five years of professional experience fitting pedorthics shoes and inserts for diabetic patients.

 

C.  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

 

1)  Understanding of the Diabetic Community and the diagnosis

2)  Ability to source and compare all aspects of the shoe industry offerings for the Diabetic Customers

3)  Excellent platform skills and the ability to perform accurate fittings of Diabetic shoes and ancillary parts.

4)  Must possess a working knowledge of business compliance policy and procedures.

5)  Possesses good interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team

6)  Ability to function in a fast-paced appointment schedule that must adhere to strict timelines and deadlines

7)  Utilizes clear verbal communication skills to source and exchange information; utilizes written communication skills to prepare documentation and report results as warranted by job responsibilities

8)  Ability to identify problems within the work routine that can be handled at level and refer escalated matters for further resolution and follow-up to Manager or Director

9)  Promotes a philosophy that is customer driven with excellent service results.
