PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS

We are currently seeking Physician Assistants in the following areas – the ones that are in BOLD can be interchanged with an experienced Physician Assistant:

 ANESTHESIOLOGY – 40 HRS  -In conjunction with the ACS attending anesthesiologist, evaluate new acute pain patient consults, discuss and formulate treatment options, daily mgt of continuous infusion catheters, daily rounds, assist with SACU pain procedures, data collection for post op pain surveys, monitor compliance with protocols, call response from floor nurses and primary service regarding acute pain.CARDIO SURGERY – 36 HRS EVES  -- Required: ACLS certified; Required: Telemetry interpretation and Preferred: prior cardiac surgery or ICU/OR experienceCARDIO SURGERY - 40 HRS EVES/NIGHTS - Required: Cardiac OR experience (EVH, 1st assist and radial artery harvest preferred) and ICU experience. BLS and ACLS certification required. Cardiac Surgery night ICU and Cardiac OR Evenings. Monthly weekend call and rotating holiday OR call required.HOSPITAL MEDICINE – 40 HRS (mostly nights)NEUROSURGERY – 40 HRS -Assist in pre-op and post-op management of neurosurgical patients...will assist in seeing patients in the neurosurgery clinics on both campuses.ORTHOPEDICS – 40 HRS – Orthopedic experience preferredORTHOPEDICS – MILFORD, MA – 40 HRS (MON-FRI) –Orthopedic experience preferred PULMONARY & CRITICAL CARE MED

I.  Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of a physician, the Physician Assistant is responsible for providing varied medical services, including: obtaining complete medical history and performing a physical examination; ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and imaging studies; formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan; prescribing and/or dispensing medication; assisting in surgery or other invasive procedures; counseling patients and families.

III.  Position Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree and Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program are required. The employee must have current Massachusetts license, issued by the Physician Assistant Board, and current NCCPA certification. If prescribing medications is included in clinical duties and privileges, Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration are required.
