Physician Assistant

OAA Orthopaedic Specialists is a premier, subspecialty-oriented private practice group that serves a region of over 750,000 people in eastern Pennsylvania. Treating patients for the past 30 years, our 24-physician practice is the largest and most experienced orthopaedic practice in the Lehigh Valley. Our group services five local hospitals, including Lehigh Valley Hospital, a Level I trauma facility. 

 

We have an immediate need for PA's to work with our experienced total joint surgeon and have plans to add three fellowship-trained surgeons in the coming year expanding the need for experienced mid-level providers.  These surgeons will practice trauma and adult reconstruction. 

 

Position Description

Essential functions include first assisting during surgery, pre/post-operative care, H&Ps, electronic medical record usage and potentially participation in the call schedule.  A successful candidate must possess excellent people skills, be self-motivated and have the ability to work within a team environment.  The candidate will join an experienced tight knit mid-level staff.  Orthopaedic and/or surgical experience greatly preferred, but not required.

 

Education and/or Experience
Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).  Some surgical experience necessary, orthopaedics experience preferred.
 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Pennsylvania.
Current Physician Assistant Certification.

Other Skills and Abilities
Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain a positive rapport with patients and staff members.
Prior experience with decision making and team leadership.
Ability to multitask.
Electronic medical record usage knowledge.
Computer database software and internet software.

Other Qualifications
Self motivated flexible team player.
Orthopaedic and/or surgical experience preferred.
Bi-lingual/Spanish skills for interpreting a plus.
