PATIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE / 08-16205
Position Description:
The Patient Service Representative is responsible for greeting patients and families, collecting demographic and insurance information, collecting payments associated with services rendered and any other duties necessary to provide efficient, timely services to the patients and their families. Position is also responsible for assisting in answering department phones and making patient appointments. Experience with EPIC or other registration and scheduling software necessary. Experience obtaining and tracking insurance authorizations.
Qualifications:
High School graduate with three (3) years related healthcare, registration, physician billing, and/or medical office experience preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred customer service background preferred. EPIC computer experience preferred. Ability to schedule and register patients rapidly and accurately. Experience obtaining and tracking insurance authorizations. Excellent telecommunication skills and demonstrated organizational skills. Must be able to communicate courteously and effectively with physicians and staff.Data entry skills preferred. Must demonstrate professionalism and a friendly manner with patients, families and other staff members.Willingness to exercise judgment and independence to provide services necessary to meet patient and family needs, even if it means going beyond the stated job responsibilities. Ability to complete multiple tasks and work under pressure.Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
