Overnight Network Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Test and troubleshoot VPN connectivity and network connectivity for new and existing customers.Provide telephone support for troubleshooting issues and connectivity support for PACS and RIS production systems.

·  Assist Tier 1 support staff with customer support activities.

· Document and communicate appropriate information between customers and Tier 3 support staff.

· Provide remote desktop and system support to Radiologist

· Some system administration support.

· Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 Required Qualifications1+ years network and desktop support experience, or equivalent experience. IPSEC VPN tunnel management. Familiar with the network connectivity types:  T1, T3,Cable and DSLExperience with different protocols:  TCP/IP, ICMP, UDP, SSL & TLSFamiliar with networking monitoring tools and troubleshooting in a command line environment  Understanding of LAN and WAN internetworking devices:  functions of internetworking, linking devices (repeaters, bridges, routers, and gateways), configuring, routing IP addresses and subnetting. Ability to communicate clearly with customers and provide phone support

Preferred but not required QualificationsExperience using a ticketing system Working with multi-vendor firewall and VPN devices: Cisco pix, checkpoint, netscreen and Nortel contivity. Basic CCNA or level of understanding of routing and switching as it pertains to a customer specific environment. CISCO Router Experience 

Education:

· Recent completion of network and/or server administration technical school and or equivalent experience

· IPSEC VPN tunnel management.

· Knowledge of Cisco Products

· Knowledge and Experience of XP, Windows Servers 2000 & 2003

· Active Directory User Administration

· Medical systems experience with PACS and RIS a plus
