Responsible for application and removal of casts, braces, and traction for orthopedic patients under the direction/supervision of the orthopedic physicians and Patient Care Director. Requires technical knowledge of cast, brace, traction, and software equipment - application, monitoring and removal. Qualified candidates will have approximately 2 years clinical practice as orthopedic technician in acute care setting. High school diploma or equivalent required. Interpersonal skills necessary to instruct, comfort patients and their families and maintain effective communication with a variety of hospital personnel. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail up to eighty percent of work time. Must have knowledge of basic computer skills.
