As an Occupational Therapist Assistant / OTA at Genesis Rehabilitation Services, you will:
• Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist, including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises
• Evaluate activities of daily living under the direction of the Occupational Therapist
• Organize and facilitate treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist
• Instruct patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the OT program, under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist
• Work with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop activities consistent with each patient’s needs and capabilities
• Represent OT at required meetings on customer care, staffing and other subjects, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist
• Clean and maintain equipment, identifying and reporting any need for repairs
• Put patient service first: Ensure that patients and families enjoy the best possible service, in a caring and compassionate atmosphere where the individual’s needs and rights are recognized and respected
Requirements for Occupational Therapy Assistant / OTAs
You must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education. You must be eligible to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, according to state guidelines.
