We're hiring for positions throughout the company -- learn more about how you can build your career with St. David's HealthCare! Position Description:Occupational Therapists use purposeful, goal-oriented activity in assessing, evaluating, and/or treating persons whose function is impaired by physical illness or injury, emotional disorder, congenital or developmental disability, or the aging process, to achieve optimum functioning, to prevent disability, and to maintain health. The Occupational Therapist will assess patients’ progress during and following treatment. Evaluation and treatment shall be initiated only by written prescription or confirmed verbal orders of a qualified physician. Therapists will interact with members of this department, as well as other hospital departments to provide for essential department operational tasks, including patient treatment and continuing education, infection control, and quality assurance. Occupational Therapists will maintain communication through documentation and verbal consultation with nursing staff and physicians to provide optimal patient care. License/Certification: Current licensure in Texas as an Occupational Therapist.  Certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Education/Experience Preferred: Previous experience in Occupational Therapy.Computer skills.
