Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital is a 120-bed hospital in Wheaton, Illinois, that is dedicated to the delivery of rehabilitative medicine. Position Description:The new Marianjoy Subacute Center is a specialized transitional care unit located within Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital. Located on a 60 acre wooded campus, this comprehensive 20 bed all private room subacute program is beneficial for those patients who require an extended hospital stay but with less intensive rehabilitation. The new Marianjoy Subacute Center is part of the comprehensive continuum of care offered by Marianjoy, which includes acute inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient physical therapy and other services. The Marianjoy Subacute Center is staffed by a team of clinical experts including therapists and nurses who work under the direction of a Marianjoy Medical Group physiatrist. Together with input from the patient and family, this team determines the most effective and efficient treatment plan to help maximize each patient’s independence, increase mobility, and improve their overall level of functioning.As highly valued members of Marianjoy's care team, our therapists take a holistic approach to rehabilitation, focusing on the total needs of each patient - body, mind and spirit.As an Occupational Therapist at Marianjoy, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team of skilled clinicians. You will utilize advanced clinical protocols to serve adult patients and long-term care residents in a variety of areas including brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular, orthopedic/ musculoskeletal, dementia and pain management. Qualifications:Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy Program accredited by ACOTE is required. Current IL OT licensure or license eligible. Certification by the National Board for certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is required. Current CPR certification.Experience: Two to three years of previous work experience delivering occupational therapy services in a program and environment similar to Marianjoy is preferred. Long term care experience is preferred. New graduates may be considered if clinical experience is applicable and supervision by an experienced OT Practitioner is available.Knowledge: Applicable assessment and treatment knowledge to provide services to various patient populations. Understanding of state, federal, and professional practice laws, regulations, preferred practice patterns, and licensing requirements. Computer proficiency is required. Interpersonal: Above average written and verbal communication skills, flexibility and ability to manage work in a changing environment.
