Occupational Health Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner
Provides direct patient care to Baystate Health (BH) employees at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, MA. Assists Director of Occupational Health in the management of the Employee Health practice. Activities include pre-placement medical examinations, work-related injury and illness treatment and follow-up, fitness for work evaluations, and periodic assessments. Provides medical surveillance examinations and consults with employees and managers on health issues including infection control, fitness for work, work limitations, and work accommodations. Provides triage and medical management for employees with workplace exposures to hazardous body fluids (for example, HIV infected blood exposures). Provides evaluation and counsel for employees with substance abuse problems and psychiatric / behavioral issues, and recommends appropriate treatment and follow-up to assure ability to work, using ADA and other standards. Guides and counsels employees regarding a variety of health and wellness activities including smoking cessation, disease prevention and health education. Assists Director of Occupational Health in the management of the Employee Health practice by supervising office staff, participating in committees, including Infection Control, Safety, Disaster Management, Disease Management, and Medical Self Care. Candidates should have a minimum 2 years experience in Occupational, ER, Wellness, Acute Care or Primary Care. Experience in Occupational Health is preferred. REQUIREMENTSGraduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. A minimum 2 years Occupational Health experience preferred. Ambulatory medical care experience in a Community Health setting is preferred. 1-3 years related experience preferred.
