QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must possess a PhD, preferably in human genetics, and demonstrate a high level of understanding of a wide range of scientific issues. Experience with science writing and reviewing journal articles is essential. It is highly desirable that candidates have had extensive interaction with members of the human genetics research community. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and command of written English are expected.
SKILLS/ABILITIES COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
1. Familiarity with concepts and methods of human genetic research.
2. Ability to quickly read and understand submitted research articles on a variety of topics associated with human genetics.
3. Ability to discuss and write about human genetics in a clear and concise manner.
4. Ability to learn effectively and think critically about a wide range of scientific issues.
5. Organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects with varied deadlines.
6. Ability to interact effectively with various types of people.
7. Familiarity with computers, word processing software and database software.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment.
