Nursing Director of Psychiatric Services

PsychPros Executive Search is a search firm dedicated to placing behavioral healthcare executives into rewarding positions across the country.

We are assisting a full service healthcare provider in Asheville, NC with their search for a seasoned RN to fill their Nursing Director of Psychiatric Services vacancy. Our client’s psychiatric services division is comprised of inpatient, psychiatric emergency, partial hospitalization and out patient services and operates on a budget of 7 million dollar budget.

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, and in accordance with the standards and policies of the hospital, the Nursing Director of Psychiatric Services is responsible for directing area operations, programs, and activities for psychiatric services. The Director of Nursing
will supervise approximately 120 full-time staff, including 4 Unit Supervisors, 2 Program Coordinators and a Nurse Specialist.

Candidates applying for the position of should possess a bachelors or masters degree from an accredited nursing program, with five (5) years prior relevant experience and a minimum 3 years in a leadership position. In addition, candidates must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management and CPR training. Strong leadership qualities a must!
