Job Description Imagine yourself working with this team…The Regional Diabetes Education Department is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in our highly collaborative and leading edge environment in our Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic at Aurora Sinai Medical Center.

Due to our commitment to shared governance and shared decision-making, the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, in association with a designated physician or group of physicians, assists in the delivery of health care services and is responsible for the patient assessment, interpretation, diagnosis, and prescribing of appropriate medical and nursing therapeutic measures. Imagine yourself…Eliciting a personal medical history, performing physical exam, and assessing and determining differential diagnosis. Prescribing accordingly.Consulting with physician as appropriate. Performing routine therapeutic procedures including, but not limited to, injections, immunizations, lesion destruction/removal, suturing and care of wounds.Instructing and counseling patients on physical/mental health including, but not limited to, diet, preventive health measures, disease, treatment, and normal growth and development.
Providing medical management and diabetes management for the mother who is pregnant and has diabetes.
Independently performing evaluation and treatment procedures necessary to provide an appropriate response to life-threatening emergency situations.Providing emergency medical interventions until a physician arrives.

General Qualifications
Master of Science degree in Nursing with certification by appropriate governing body and current Wisconsin Registered Nurse licensure - or - Completion of a Physician Assistant program approved by the American Medical Association and appropriate licensure.Eligibility or current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) prescribing privileges.Ability to work as a member of a health care team.OB/GYN experience preferred. Experience working with diabetes preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.

Desired Qualifications
Minimum two years of previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred.
