Nurse Practitioner / Ped Surgery Department

An advanced practice nurse who provides nursing care to pediatric trauma surgical patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, as well as the diagnosis and management of pre and post surgical care. Services include, but are not limited to, conducting and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacologic agents, treatments and nonpharmacologic therapies in a cost efficient manner. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patient's health care problems. Serves as a health care resource, consultant, and patient advocate. Demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care. Must be flexible and adaptable to change. Provides the overall coordination and care for trauma patients through admission to outpatient clinic. A minimum of 3 years of NP experience is required.
