Phoenix Childrens Hospital is the only specialty childrens hospital in Arizona and it is poised to become one of the foremost pediatric hospitals in the nation. Primary Purpose: Promotes patient health through delivery of professional expanded nursing care appropriate to patients age and condition as documented in the nursing and medical plans of care in accordance with nursing/patient care practice standards and hospital goals, values and standards.CB Work Environment: Activities are performed on a climactically controlled nursing unit subject to frequent long periods of standing and walking; frequent physical demands including, but not limited to: stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, climbing, lifting and pushing objects of varying weights up to and including 150 pounds. Activities performed require ability to regularly assist patients to and from various types of equipment. Regularly works in an environment subject to high stress levels, exposure to fumes, chemicals, noise and blood born pathogens; frequently changing priorities. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1. Masters of Science degree in nursing, coupled with 2 years of related nursing experience; Pharmacy course in Arizona to qualify for pharmacy privileges2. 1 - 2 years technical training or additional skills training for licensure/certification to perform more advanced clinical skills; pediatric clinical practice preferred; 2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience is recommended to meet the needs of the specialty population3. Current State of Arizona RN license, or the ability to obtain one within 3 months of hire with Arizona State certification as a nurse practitioner; current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
