NURSE MANAGER POSITION AVAILABLE

 

JOB PURPOSE:

 

To coordinate, plan, direct and supervise Nursing Care on a 24 hours basis.  To execute efficient operation of the Nursing Unit involving utilization of nursing staff and other disciplines necessary to provide a safe, comfortable and supportive environment.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Responsible for all nursing care on a unit within the guidelines of the Stella Maris, Inc. philosophy and in compliance with Standards of Practice and Federal and State regulations.  Assigns, delegates, supervises and evaluates performance of nursing staff members.  Establishes and coordinates continuity of residents’ Care Plan with the physicians, interdisciplinary team and families on a twenty-four hour basis.  Maintains medical records to meet professional standards.  Assures adequate supplies, equipment and maintenance for efficient operation of the unit within budgetary constraints.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Maryland; gerontological certification preferred.

Expereince in supervision and management preferred.

Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with residents, staff, families, and other disciplines.

Must be able to assist with lifting patients weighing up to 250 lb.

Some on-call responsibilities required.
