NURSE MANAGER, NEUROLOGY/NEUROSURGERY*
The Nurse Manager provides support to the Director of Nursing, Neurosciences by overseeing day to day operational activities of the Neurology/Neurosurgery patient care unit. This individual must be able to apply principles of leadership and human relations in the overall supervision and coordination of patient care and personnel. This person may be delegated certain responsibilities in the absence of the Director. Maintains unit specific standard of practice based on current literature and professional standards of practice. In collaboration with the Staff Development department and unit educators participates in the design, implementation and evaluation of staff orientation, staff development and continuing education relevant to unit staff. Also, in collaboration with the Staff Development department, assists with nursing schools, regulatory requirements, and patient and family education.
Qualified candidates possess professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of a program at an accredited School of Nursing.
Current Wisconsin license as a Registered Nurse and a Bachelor's Degree required. Approximately two-years clinical practice in designated specialty to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of unit and departmental policies and procedures, and to fulfill established quality and quantity standards for the job. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and analytical skills necessary.
