The CRMC Laboratory is a full service lab with an active outreach program in Cheyenne and other locations throughout the state of Wyoming. CRMC serves the southeast region of Wyoming along with Northern Colorado and Eastern Nebraska. The laboratory is very well equipped with new equipment in Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and performs over1.2 million tests per year.

 

The Microbiology Coordinator is in charge of all patient testing including cultures (routine bacterial, fungal, mycobacterial), susceptibility testing, microscopy and rapid antigen tests.  The Microbiology Coordinator is responsible for quality patient results, quality control, performance improvement, new product selection and implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, technical staff training and competency, policy and procedure writing and scheduling of staff. Our goal for the coming year in our microbiology department is to start implementing automated molecular diagnostic testing and equipment.

 

Communication and computer skills are very important as this position communicates frequently with physicians, nurses and other hospital staff along with lab coworkers.
Must be able to multi-task and work independently. CRMC uses a McKesson Horizon lab system with blood bank and microbiology fully computerized.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

 

Education: Bachelor's Degree and Medical Technology is required. MT (ASCP) is preferred.

 

Experience: Must have prior Clinical Microbiology Experience.

Preferably 5 years of microbiology and some supervisory experience.

 

Compensation is commensurate with experience. We offer great sign-on bonuses and assistance with relocation.
