Reporting to the Director of Third Party Receivable, this position is responsible for the management of third party billing activities from all non-government payers and patients. Responsible for the management of the government payers; Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare etc. This position Involves interaction with many hospital departments, external agencies, insurers, attorneys, patients, medical staff and senior management. Requirements: 1. Must have verbal, written and interpersonal skills normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor?s degree.2. Requires an in-depth knowledge of principles, practices and theories in own professional discipline. Designs solutions for internal/external clients. Makes self-available as a resource for others. May have knowledge of more than one professional discipline. 3. Must possess an in-depth knowledge of third party receivable, systems development and all hospital policies and procedures usually acquired through three to five years of progressively responsible accounts receivable management including one to three years in acute hospital field.4. Decision Making Responsibilities include regularly making decisions and taking independent action on matters affecting a department/division. Participates in strategy development.5. Teamwork Creates a vision and identity for a significant team department. Leads collaboration with other significant teams.6. People Development Recognized as an organization-wide resource. Responsible for providing tools, guidance and opportunities for staff to realize full potential..7. Internal Contacts Position requires internal contacts outside the department in situations requiring resolution of conflict, negotiation or collaboration on significant projects. Position is responsible for monitoring relations to ensure quality of internal customer service.8. Customer Service/External Contacts Within own area of expertise, works with customers to solve serious issues, maintain key relationships or deal with sensitive issues.9. Scope of Impact Actions and decisions have sizable impact on the organization?s short-term performance and noticeable impact on its long-term success. Quantifiable measures of the job are significant and somewhat broad in scope.10. Project Management Manages several complex projects simultaneously; focuses on critical success factors and develops contingency plans.Incumbent must have very strong verbal and written communication skills, in addition to analytical, computer and organizational skills and a good motivator of people.
