Mental Health Clinicain - Homebased
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. This position is responsible for direct and indirect home-based treatment services for children and families with mental illness.2. Provides individual, group, conjoint or family psychotherapy and support services to children with severe emotional disturbance and their family.3. Conducts clinical assessments, develops diagnoses, and participates in developing person/family centered treatment plans with client families. Monitors client progress and coordinates appropriate mental health and other needed services.4. Responsible for maintaining an electronic and paper chart which includes required documentation of services provided, progress notes, treatment plans, periodic reviews and client rights documents. 5. Participates in individual supervision and team meetings to review progress, identify barriers and develop strategies for better assisting families in reaching their goals. 6. Participate in utilization review committee meetings for the purpose of reviewing case records for contract compliancy, quality assurance, appropriateness of services and treatment progress. 7. Provides 24/7 crisis intervention availability to help offset potential risk of self-harm or conditions which could lead to out of home placement.8. Ensures that paperwork is maintained in accordance with Medicaid and Department of Community Health guidelines, as well as Easter Seals policies and procedures.9. Responsible for authorizing medically necessary services for all consumers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Psychology, Social Work or other mental health area.2. Have an LMSW or LLMSW from the Michigan Board of Examiners of Social Workers, have a license as a professional counselor from the State of Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services, or have a temporary limited license or limited license as a Psychologist from the Michigan Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator or chauffeur's license. Must maintain 24 documented training hours relative to Child Diagnostic Treatment Services annually (within any 12-month period). Must possess knowledge and have an understanding of co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance abuse).
