Medical Writer (Temporary)

 

The American College of Radiology (www.ACR.org), a professional association for radiologists, is a world leader in radiology clinical research. The clinical research office located in Philadelphia, administers the prestigious American College of Radiology Imaging Network (www.ACRIN.org).  ACRIN is a national cancer study research group funded by the National Institute of Health/National Cancer Institute (NIH/NCI) that manages clinical trials of imaging technologies as they relate to cancer. 

 

ACRIN is seeking a Temporary Medical Writer to interact with the leadership of clinical trials and author scientific concept & protocol documents suitable for review and approval internally and with the NIH/NCI and/or Food & Drug Administration (FDA). 

 

 

As a member of the ACRIN team you will:

 Prepare accurate and high quality, regulatory documents on schedule while interacting with clinical teams, statisticians, and department staff to produce reviews and articles for scientific publications.  Write and edit grant proposals, concepts, protocols, abstracts/manuscripts/publications, and other reports and manuals as required.

 Conduct comprehensive literature review of relevant medical and/or scientific topics and prepare summaries and citations.  Review, abstract, and summarize data from published clinical trials as needed.

 

·  Communicate and discuss with ACRIN staff project status, deliverables and statistical data.  Assist on multiple projects, balancing client needs to meet project deadlines.

 

·  Review and prepare Investigator’s Drug Brochure (IDB or IB), grant proposals, concepts, protocols, abstracts/manuscripts/publications, and statistical analysis plans.

 

·  Edit, proofread and format all research-related documents and publications prior to submission.

 

Qualifications include:

 This position typically requires a MS degree and 4+ years of related experience, including a familiarity with healthcare terminology. 

 Ability to independently research, write, and edit scientific documents, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and training materials.

 Experience in working with federal regulatory agencies, i.e. NIH/NCI and/or FDA

 Experience in publishing manuscripts or other documents related to scientific research in scientific journals.

 The ability to conceptually organize and analyze data, interpret and synthesize complex clinical publications and statistical reports and the ability to translate scientific and technical issues for diverse audiences is necessary.
