Medical Billing & Collection Coordinator
Assistive Technology Group, a leading provider of rehab and assistive technology is seeking a Billing and Collections coordinator for our Newington, CT location doing business as CT Rehab & Medical Products.
The Billing and Collections coordinator is responsible for the timely billing and collecting for rehab and assistive technology (custom wheelchairs and other rehab equipment). This person will spend their time processing a clean and timely bill of the client's equipment to the appropriate payor source. The Billing and Collections coordinator will monitor A/R and aging reports and perform the necessary research to clear denials and obtain payment on outstanding A/R accounts.
The successful applicant will have:Excellent communication and organizational skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and timeliness of delivery of equipment. Must possess the ability to work with clients with disabilities, insurance companies, physicians, therapists and nurses. Knowledge and experience with Medicare, Medicaid and managed care billing - ideally in a home medical equipment environment. Proven success with electronic claim submissions and collections resulting in decreased DSO and A/R. Again, ideally in the field of home medical equipment. The ability to work in an environment managed by numbers and work within established thresholds for billing and collections. Actual billing/collections experience with custom wheelchairs and medical equipment a plus and strongly desired. Physician/hospital/dental billing experience is not comparable but may be helpful as basic foundation. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn and adhere to set job standards.Â
Computer knowledge required. Nationwide criminal and drug screen checks required upon hire. Spanish speaking a plus but not a requirement. Must have exemplary customer service focus and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Salary commensurate with experience.
