A Web based, consumer direct health care services company with explosive growth potential, seeks motivated, professional medical bill negotiation specialist to interface with health care providers and their billing offices. Our negotiators are frequently able to make a difference in people's lives by reducing the amount they pay for health care through negotiation.
Job Description:
Medical Cost Advocate bill negotiation specialists are professionals who combine experience in health care, bill data analysis and business acumen with a passion for reducing health care bills and saving consumers money. Our professionals work directly with providers (doctors, hospitals and clinics) and their billing and collection management. They also interface with consumers, insurance carriers and employers in constructive knowledgeable manner. Our innovative intellectual property and work flow enable our specialists to perform the entire negotiation from their desk top. The Position reports to the VP of Negotiation Operations.
Responsibilities Include:
v Analyzing bills for accuracy by completing a review using procedural knowledge & data
v Researching and solving billing issues with insurance carriers, customers or providers
v Collecting data from our application and other sources to formulate negotiation price strategies
v Negotiating bills with health care providers, financial managers and/or their administrative staff (physicians,
hospitals, other health care practitioners and billing departments)
v Managing several bill negotiations in different stages simultaneously
v Following-up with providers and consumer clients to resolve questions
v Notifying customers of negotiation progress and outcome
v Contributing to negotiation methodologies and our corporate knowledge base
Qualifications:
· Experience interfacing with health care providers and knowledge of medical terminology
· Medical claim/bill processing experience, understanding of the medical claim/bill adjudication process, experience working with health plan documents and/or claims paying
· Knowledge of medical bill coding including CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS coding - Certified coder a plus
· Passion for and strong capability in, the art of fee negotiation
· Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel (will train on proprietary negotiation tools).
· Education/Experience- Bachelors degree, associate’s degree or equivalent from a college or technical school (business or health concentration) and 3-5 years related work experience
· Commutable to Wyckoff, New Jersey, corporate office (30 minutes from Midtown NYC).

Compensation:
Salary - Market oriented and based on skill level and experience
Commission – Significant, based on negotiation outcome (approximately 1/3 of total compensation
