Medical Assistant - Orthopedic

Medical Assistant - Orthopaedic Office

Our large Orthopaedic Group in Fairfield, Shelton & Stratford CT continues to grow!  Today, with more than 115 employees in three, state-of-the-art locations, our continued growth has created excellent career opportunities.

We currently seek full-time Medical Assistants.  The ideal candidates will have worked at least two years as a Medical Assistant in a mid- to large-sized medical practice, preferably orthopaedics.

At Orthopaedic Specialty Group, M.A.s are responsible for providing clinical & some administrative support to physicians and physician assistants during office call.  The M.A. prepares the patient for exam, participates in cast, suture & staple removal, brace fitting, physical therapy order processing, exam-room stocking, reviewing and maintaining patient medical records & other related duties.

Ideally, individuals will have a working knowledge of insurances and the ability to provide excellent patient/customer service.  Responsibilities may also include answering phones, appointment scheduling, some data-entry, collecting co-pays and insurance verification.  We need candidates who can assist a broad spectrum of patients, and bilingual candidates are always a plus.

OSG requires HS Diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant and computer literacy.  Experience, and the ability to multi-task in a high-volume office, makes you someone we want to speak to!

Positions are full-time, Monday thru Friday. We begin our day at 8:00 am and finish it when we've seen our last patient, thus, the ability to sometimes stay until 6pm (or even occasionally 6:30 pm) is necessary.  (Those M.A.s who support physicians with a longer day may be scheduled for four 9 or 10-hour days vs. five 8-hour days each week.)  Medical Assistants at OSG must have their own, reliable transportation and must be able to work in either the Fairfield, Shelton or Stratford locations, as all of our Providers rotate between the offices to some degree.

We offer competitive benefits and a highly satisfying work environment.  OSG is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

No phone calls/agencies please.
