Managing Director of Clinical Learning and Development
The primary responsibility of this position is to lead clinical learning initiatives for Amedisys. This position is responsible for leading all clinical learning solutions and facilitating successful implementation of all strategic clinical initiatives. Successful candidate has high level of clinical expertise and is committed to development of a ‘best in class’ learning organization. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Design, develop, implement and evaluate Amedisys disease/care management programs Assesses and evaluates existing disease/care management programs based upon key metrics Performs and monitors trend analysis data for Amedisys clinical learning programs Provides guidance and recommendations to enhance implementation of Amedisys clinical strategic initiatives Assesses and improves the effectiveness of ongoing employee and management development strategies for Amedisys clinical staff to ensure consistency and quality across the organization Directs, designs, implements, and consults on performance management, career and succession and leadership programs and initiatives for clinical staff Develops employee and management development programs and interventions aligned with current needs and long range human capital objectives for clinical staff Consults, advises, and coaches Amedisys leadership and business unit management on performance management, retention strategies, succession planning and high potential identification for clinical staff Participates in cross-functional teams to consult and advise clinical staff on talent management Develops talent and career tools and processes to fulfill requirements for clinical staff (e.g. succession planning, 360 feedback, etc) Regularly conducts performance analyses to determine organizational gaps; design, develop and implement interventions to address clinical learning needs Serves as nurse planner for the continuing nursing education provider unit (ANCC) Responsible for all clinical accreditation initiatives Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Advanced knowledge and abilities in the principles and practices of talent management Knowledge of “best in class” organizational effectiveness, talent management, organizational change and selection practices Specific expertise in performance management, succession planning, retention strategies and high potential identification program design and administration for clinical teams Understanding of Amedisys’ strategy, services, infrastructure and operational plans Ability to scope, communicate, diagnose, design and manage interventions, and evaluate performance Ability to adapt a variety of tools and methods to support leadership in implementing selected strategies and organizational designs High level of executive influence Ability to conduct needs assessment and organization culture consulting Ability to make decisions and operate independently with respect to complex issues and business requirements with a high degree of exposure Strong business acumen and broad business skills High tolerance to drive through ambiguity for results; ability to push back; negotiation skills Advanced skills in consulting, coaching, and facilitation Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community Operational leadership and management skills Competence in managing multiple projects simultaneously with a strong results/goal orientation Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals Understands the strategic philosophy involved in developing strategic HR initiatives that are aligned with and closely linked to business objectives Ability to handle stressful situations/deadlines Requirements: Master’s Degree in Nursing required Nursing required 7-10 years professional experience in talent management, training and development, clinical instruction or related functions, including five years experience in the creation, design and delivery of staff development programs for clinical staff having organization-wide impact 5-10 years of management and supervisory/leadership experience Experience with ANCC and additional clinical accrediting organizations Keywords: Nurse Instructor, Clinical Instructor, Nursing Clinical Instructor, Nurse Educator, Clinical Educator, Nursing Clinical Educator, Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Training, Staff Development, Education Specialist, Clinical Nurse Specialist, CNS
