Job Description:Provides essential leadership and administrative support to the department members; Accountable for the financial and quality performance of the Medical Surgical; Ensures that the nursing, standards of care are consistent with the CHRISTUS Spohn Health System mission and meet regulatory requirements; Facilitates the ongoing achievement of the division’s mission and goals; promotes the development and improvement of processes directed at providing quality, economical healthcare services.  Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is preferred however a bachelor degree in a related field with equivalent year of experience is required. Current unencumbered licensure from the State of Texas. Eight years Medical care experience with five years experience in a management role. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and be supportive/ innovative in the process of change; strong human relations skills with an ability to handle difficult/sensitive issues with regard to patient confidentiality; ability to motivate others; and excellent written/oral communication skills. Knowledge of hospital practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to Medical Surgical Nursing.

Preferred:

Master's degree. Membership in professional organization.
