JOB DESCRIPTION

                       

     MANAGER OF CLINICAL OPERATIONS / SITE MANAGER

 

The primary concern of all personnel in the research organization is the protection and care of the study volunteer.  The Manager of Clinical Operations is responsible and accountable for overseeing personnel, recruitment directives, and the overall operations of the clinical research site. The Manager of Clinical Operations also significantly participates in the clinical trial coordination process.  This position is supervisory and classified as a Salaried Exempt employee.  The duties include, but are not limited to the following:

 

·        Advocating and promoting the research process – the mission of PMG.

 

·        Overseeing, directing, and participating in all recruitment activities.

 

·        Managing the orientation and training of staff utilizing PMG training resources.

 

·        Providing coaching, mentoring, leadership and guidance for staff members.   

 

·        Managing and ensuring the site’s adherence to PMG’s Standard Operating Procedures.

 

·        Managing Quality Assurance and training resources.

 

·        Ensuring site compliance with all federal, local, and regulatory requirements and company procedures.  

 

·        Developing new business and maintaining communication with clients.

           

·        Coordinating clinical trials as necessary or providing coordinator support.

 

·        Serving as an industry liaison with regard to PMG contracts and negotiations.

 

·        Developing and nurturing investigator relationships with PMG.

 

·        Serving as a marketing representative of the organization with regard to recruitment and retention of studies and development of contacts within the pharmaceutical industry.

 

·        Supervising and/or conducting coordinator or other staff meetings on a regular basis to monitor progress of each of the clinical research trials.

 

·        Developing leadership talent within the organization and recognizing leadership skills within the staff

 

·        Communicating with the President, Vice President, Site Development Team, and /or other Supervisors with regards to overall site operations, coordinator workload, prioritization, recruitment efforts, or other issues.

 

·        Directing recruitment activities and fostering a team environment to facilitate growth at the site.

 

·        Monitoring employee and site progress with goal setting and achievement of goals. 

·    Completing Performance Assessments as necessary.

 

·   Overseeing site expenditures and communicating expenditure needs to the Vice

     President or President.

 

·   Reviewing investigator estimated earnings for accuracy and other outside vendor 

     expenditures.

 

·   Performing any other necessary task.

 

 

The Manager of Clinical Operations works directly with the President, Vice President and Site Development Team within PMG.

 

 

Time in the office performing the duties of this position may vary according to the needs of the research projects.  There may be times where evening and weekend hours are required.  Every attempt will be made to give fair notice of when an unusual schedule may be required.  It is the employees’ responsibility to communicate with the Vice President or President regarding their individual workload and time management in the office.
