This position is accountable for the daily delivery of an effective Utilization management program by means of managing staff and functions for the Medical Center. Responsible for oversight of day-to-day activities of Utilization Management, Pre Admission and Transfer Coordinators and support staff. Interfaces with, and assure very good service to, the key customers of the Department (patients, physicians, and outside review groups) Participates in quality projects with a focus on improving outcomes as well as processes, to provide scheduling, departmental orientation programs and in-service training. Takes support the development of length of stay and Medicare Affordability strategies and assists the Director in data collection and evaluation of the effectiveness of the overall program

Nationally recognized services include: Regional Stroke Center, Regional Rehabilitation Center, and Chemical Dependency, with Centers of Excellence in Women and Infants (including a Level III Newborn ICU), Cardiovascular, Orthopedics, Oncology, and Behavioral Health. Other services include a bone marrow transplant program, minimally invasive surgery, imaging, and emergency services.

Located in the heart of the San Francisco East Bay Area, Our client is part of Our client Health, one of the nation's leading not-for-profit networks of community health services. Bachelors' Degree in health care field preferred. Two-three years previous related experience required. Management experience required. Comprehensive knowledge of inpatient hospital care, generally acquired through formal training or experience in Nursing, Case Management or Social Work. Knowledge of agency requirements, financial considerations and community resources. Knowledge of Utilization Review methods. Knowledge of regulatory requirements. Current License in California as Registered Nurse Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, and exhibit excellent customer service skills with professional staff, patients, families and third party payers.
Salary Range –
Mid $127,550
