Manager Marketing
Responsibilities Job Summary: Working as a team member in the Marketing Department, the Marketing Manager partners with the Executive Director of Marketing, Marketing Coordinator and other members of the department to manage, implement and measure designated strategies for specific services, service lines and key target audiences. This involves advertising, direct mail, collateral development, website initiatives, call center and other tactics as needed.Essential Values-Based, Leadership and Management Competencies: Demonstrates values-based competencies in line with the four core values that are the foundation of all activities performed by employees in order to achieve the Mission of the St. Joseph Health System. Manages the development and implementation of marketing goals, strategy, budget and action plans for key service lines and audiences as assigned.2. Manages marketing tactics including but not limited to: advertising, direct mail, newsletters, collateral and websites.3. Collaborates with public relations, business development, community education and other disciplines to insure appropriate input for projects.4. Manages relationships including internal clients, physicians, donors, vendors and other key audiences.5. Maintains the St. Joseph Hospital brand consistently through out all communication tactics.6. Assists in overall monitoring of measurable results in order to demonstrate return on investment.7. Oversees the management of competitive insight and advertising spending.8. Monitors local, regional and national trends as they pertain to designated services/service lines and healthcare marketing. Other specific competencies that have been identified by the manager related to changes in departmental operations or that focuses on current clinical practices and are listed on the Supplemental Competence Validation Summary. Additional Responsibilities: 1. Proof reads all documents pertaining to projects.2. Works with mailhouses, printers, designers as well as hospital advertising agency and web vendor.3. Works with various internal committees.Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Proven ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team* Stellar project management skills * Copywriting expertise* Knowledge of print and electronic media* Excellent computer skills (including working knowledge of database, spreadsheet and presentation software)Age-Related Competencies: * Human development knowledge/skills:Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served including knowledge of the principles of growth and development and psychosocial characteristics and interventions for age specific requirement of the assigned unit.* Age-specific patient needs that employee is required to understand and meet:Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret age appropriate data about the patient's status in order to identify age-specific needs and provide the care needed.* Additional requirements:Demonstrates age appropriate communication skills for the patient population served.Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific community resources. Information Management: * Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with complete confidentiality and security. Risk Management: * Cooperates fully in all risk management activities and investigations. Safety Requirements: * Is knowledgeable of, observes and complies with hospital Codes of Safe Practice, safety policies and emergency procedures.Minimum Position Qualifications: *Education: Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent degree. * Experience: - Five to seven years in the marketing, planning or business development in a healthcare organization. - Advertising agency experience a plus. * Training: * License / Certification:Preferred Position Qualifications: * Bachelor of Arts degreeEnvironmental Conditions: Physical Requirements: Additional physical requirements are defined on the Physical Demand Analysis and is included in the physical demand assessment provided in employee health.
